Smart Taser is simple to use but still utilises some keybinds to perform key functions, such as reactivating the taser or enabling the safety mode.
By default, the only configured taser is the WEAPON_STUNGUN (base GTA) model. To use the resource, you'll need to be holding this weapon. You can add additional tasers and our documentation will explain this in a later section.
This documentation mentions keybinds and it will refer to the default ones. Later on, you'll be shown how to reconfigure these.
The built in taser CID will display the number of cartridges in your taser and also the current status of the safety mode. The icon to the left is purely cosmetic, along with the battery indicator.
At first your CID will look like this, having 2 taser cartridges loaded in. The bold line below the left cartridge indicates that this cartridge is selected and ready to fire.
After deploying your taser, you'll see that the left cartridge is now empty and instead the right cartridge is selected and ready to fire.
Once both cartridges have been deployed, you'll see a CID looking like this. This is when you might want to reload your taser.
Press Z to toggle your taser safety mode. Once enabled, you won't be able to use any functions of your taser until disabled. You'll see a padlock icon on your CID (Central Interface Display) if enabled.
This is also known as operating a drive stun with your taser. If you are close enough (touching) another person with your taser, pressing X will send electricity through the end of the taser, without discharging it. This will cause the other player to fall to the floor.
Press Q to toggle your flashlight and press E to toggle your laser sight. Both of these will only show when you are aiming your taser.
After deploying your taser, you may want to reactivate a suspect. This essentially sends electricity back to them, through the barbs already connected to them, causing them to ragdoll.
To reactivate cartridge one, press Page Up and to reactivate cartridge two, press Page Down.
On a standalone server, you'll have unlimited taser cartridges but you'll still need to reload, so type /reloadtaser to do this. If you have one slot left, you'll be loaded with one extra cartridge, if your taser is empty, you'll be loaded with two.
QBCore, ESX & vRP - We now have item support for all three frameworks. You'll need taser cartridgesd as an item before being able to reload.
On vRP, you can select the RELOAD button after pressing on the item. On QBCore and ESX, you can press USE on the item to load it into your taser.
Once reloaded, you won't be able to reactivate the old cartridge anymore (if it was still attached to a player before a new one was loaded in).
Taser barbs are automatically removed if you go further than 25m from the suspect, however the person that fired the taser can also remove them manually.
Type /removebarbs when stood next to the player to remove them. Please note, you must be the player that fired the taser for this to work.
Once taser barbs are removed, you won't be able to reactivate that cartridge anymore.
