Make sure your resource folder is named "SmartHose" to allow integration with our Fire Supply Line resource if your server uses it. Do not rename the resource folder.
Smart Hose [v2] is designed to work by allowing you to draw a hose from pre-configured fire trucks by simply walking up to them and pressing E.
Once you've pressed E, you should now have a hose in your hand which is connected to the fire truck with a dynamic rope - one of the many features of this resource.
By default, Smart Hose will have an infinite amount of water/foam. However, this changes if your server is also using our Fire Supply Line resource, requiring you to connect to a nearby hydrant.
If you're using our Smart Fires resource, make sure to keep the folder named SmartFires. Renaming this may lead to the hose being unable to put out fires.
Smart Hose works just like any normal weapon and whilst you are firing it, the water will continue to spray. By default, the hose will start in water mode.
Whilst you are using Smart Hose, an on-screen prompt will show you the required key to switch between water and foam. After pressing this key, your hose will switch to foam mode.
Pressing E will cause the hose to drop on the floor, staying there as an item whilst connected to the truck. You can then approach the hose and pick it up using G.
For performance reasons, there is a default number of 2 maximum ropes per vehicle (which can be changed in the configuration file). This means that if two players have a hose with a rope attached to a fire truck, a third player can still draw a hose but no rope will appear for them.
Adjusting the pressure of the Smart Hose is easy using the arrow keys in real time, working both for water and foam mode. This allows you to adjust the pressure based on the size of your fire at hand.
Some servers may report an issue with the hose positioning, where it points upwards. This is caused by a conflict with other addon weapon resources. To resolve this, try starting SmartHose before all other resources in your server.cfg file. If this does not resolve the problem, temporarily stop all other addon weapon resources to determine the conflict. If this doesn't work, reach out to our team!
