Used by both London Studios and a growing network of third party developers, this system allows vehicles to go beyond static models, introducing interactive components that enhance both gameplay and immersion. Included with Smart Vehicle are our British Ladder Truck and Tiller Ladder Truck, both featuring fully controllable ladders and in-game control systems, ready to use out of the box. ## Features * **Moveable Parts -** Enable dynamic, moveable vehicle components on compatible vehicles, expanding what is possible in gameplay. * **Included Ladder Trucks -** Gain access to two fully functional ladder trucks, complete with working systems and controls. * **Compatible Vehicles -** Join a growing ecosystem of over 50 compatible vehicles developed by London Studios and third parties. * **Hugely customisable -** Each vehicle includes its own configuration, allowing developers to fully tailor behaviour and controls. * **Walk up the ladder -** Ladders include collision, allowing players to climb and interact naturally. * **Cage -** Attach to ladder cages using commands, enabling stable and effective firefighting at height. * **Water Monitors -** Supports integrated water monitors, adding functionality to compatible vehicles. * **Menus -** Built-in control panels support third-party integration, free look, optional operator walking, latching travel buttons and Return to Default. Vehicle developers can generate a panel from an AI prompt with no HTML or CSS knowledge. ### Why do I need Smart Vehicle? Smart Vehicle is the brains behind the moveable parts on a wide range of vehicles, empowering the creation of recovery trucks, ladder trucks and more. Smart Vehicle began as Smart Ladder, which was released as a singular vehicle - our British Ladder Truck. Smart Ladder proved popular and was used widely amongst FiveM servers. We then opened up Smart Ladder to third party vehicle developers, who then created a wide range of vehicles much beyond the original scope of ladder trucks - meaning we renamed the resource to Smart Vehicle. Many vehicles are now reliant on Smart Vehicle, including [all of the vehicles seen on our store.](https://store.londonstudios.net/category/vehicles) Therefore, a valid copy of Smart Vehicle is required for the moveable parts to work on any of our vehicles or those used by third party developers - all of which must be purchased separately. ### Are Smart Vehicles lore friendly? All Smart Vehicles released by London Studios through our store are lore friendly and therefore compliant with the FiveM terms of service. Vehicles released by third party developers may not meet this requirement, so make sure to enquire with any third party developers before purchasing a vehicle from them to ensure you comply with the FiveM terms of service, preventing action being taken against your server by Cfx.Re. ### Compatible Vehicles View the full list of compatible vehicles using the link below. The downloaded resource folder must remain named exactly: ``` SmartVehicle ``` Capitalisation matters. Smart Vehicle control menus and integrations refer to this exact resource name. Renaming the folder can prevent menus from loading their bridge or finding the required exports. Start Smart Vehicle before every compatible vehicle and menu resource in `server.cfg`: ```cfg ensure SmartVehicle ensure recoverytruck ``` Use the relevant resource folder name in place of `recoverytruck` for other vehicles. If a vehicle uses a separate menu resource, ensure that resource after `SmartVehicle` too. {% hint style="warning" %} `ensure SmartVehicle` must appear before individual Smart Vehicle and menu resources. {% endhint %}

### Smart Vehicle Resource Monitor/Statistics The performance of Smart Vehicle resources depends which vehicles are currently spawned in an area and how many there are. Here’s a rundown of its performance if only one vehicle is currently spawned, during idle performance:

If resmon looks high on your server, open **config.lua** and set `PerformancePreset` to `balanced` or `performance`.
